cpu: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
A 2020 flagship that still holds up pretty well. About time to change it, but frankly we don’t yet see a good enough reason to do so.

cpu cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black
Good old Noctua. Been a fan of this company for a long time. The new iteration of this flagship, the NH-D15 G2 is already out. It should be good as well, we look forward to testing it in the future.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master
Arguably the best possible mobo for the X570 chipset. Very decent power delivery and heat management. We also own the more expensive X570 Xtreme, but practically it isn’t any better than this X570S Master.

gpu: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC
Very overpriced at the time of purchase, bought it for $3000 during the infamous nVidia 3000 series GPU launch shortage period. The card itself is great, with good OC potential and power management. 24GB of vRAM is overkill for gaming but proves useful for some 3D modelling applications.

ram: G.Skill royal F4-4266C17D-32GTRGB (x2)
Currently outdated as DDR5 is the way to go, but used to be the best possible Samsung B-Die bin on the market when DDR4 still rocked.

Storage: Samsung 980 PRO 2TB (x3)
Decent performance, good TBW rating, and very nifty Samsung Magician software that is actually useful.

psu: Seasonic Prime titanium TX-1000
Expensive, but very power efficient, cool, and extremely quiet. The warranty is outstanding.

pc case: Phanteks Eclipse P600S
Very decent airflow and filtering. Despite being relatively compact, it can handle most CPU coolers and huge GPUs. Moderately priced.

case fans: Noiseblocker NB-eLoop X B14-P (X6)
A relatively unknown German brand that produces premium fans with magnetic levitation bearings. Expensive, but performance-wise ‘blows’ all the competition out of the water.

Monitor 1: acer predator x27
Amazing 4K IPS with 144Hz and HDR1000. Used primarily for gaming. 27-inch size is somewhat limiting, in future plan to replace it with a 32″ OLED equivalent.

monitor 2: lg UltraGear 38GN950-B
38″ 160Hz 3840×1600 Ultrawide IPS monitor primarily used for productivity, with occasional use for racing and strategy games. The only downside is weak HDR performance.

keyboard: corsair k100 OPX
Corsair OPX switches turned out to be exceptionally good. They feel like something in between linear Cherry MX Red and MX Speed. The keyboard itself is premium but has a few downsides we’ll address in a separate video.

mouse: mad catz r.a.t. 8+ white
Superb sensor and macro buttons, horizontal dial and customizable grips and weights. Despite its high quality, the 150-gram weight might be too heavy for some users, who may prefer lighter models or Zowie alternatives.

macro keyboard: elgato stream deck xl
At first we weren’t sure whether we needed it, but now it’s an irreplaceable aid. Exceptionally versatile gadget with nearly limitless potential through robust 3rd party integrations, supported by an active community and developer ecosystem.

router: ASUS ROG Rapture WiFi 6 AX (GT-AX6000)
Wide-band, high-speed medium size router. Two 2.5G Ethernet WAN ports. Affordable price. Good alternative to bulky multi-band alternatives. Wi-fi 7 model would be more preferable in 2025.

A cost-effective color checker that retains essential features, making it valuable for color-focused designers and editors. May be redundant for users who don’t work with color.

usb hub: TP-Link UH720
A USB hub, not much to it really except that it has external power delivery and hasn’t glitched even once since purchased a year ago. Decent hardware.

computer glasses: GUNNAR Razer Cerberus / FPS
Really a game changer. Block blue light, contrast, and help keep eyes hydrated. Not suitable for off-screen use. Not suitable for color-critical workflows as they make everything appear yellowish.

ScrewdriveRS: iFixit Manta Kit
Very versatile bit set. Has virtually everything you could wish for. The only downside is that the screwdriver handle is thick and can’t be used in narrow spaces.
